Rights Respecting Ambassadors

We are proud to be the Rights Respecting Ambassadors at St James' CE First School.

There are representatives from each class and Mrs Cousins and Mrs Dale meet with us on a Thursday lunchtime. We discuss plans for events and charities we would like our school to support and we ask our class mates to help us make these decisions. We take their opinions back to share in our Thursday meetings.

Every class has a class charter so that every child knows what their rights are. We have also worked hard with everyone involved in our school to create a school charter too.

We are currently a Level 1 RRS school.

We have already supported 4 amazing charities this year.

We raised £128 for Macmillan Cancer care by holding a coffee afternoon where we served drinks
and cakes.

We collected 44 filled shoeboxes which Fordingbridge Rotary send out to deprived children in other
countries ready for Christmas.

For our Harvest celebrations we collected food for the Local foodbank. We collected 72 kilos, which will feed 7 people, 3 meals a day for 3 days. Two of us went with Mrs Cousins and Mrs Skinner to deliver all of the food to Ringwood Foodbank warehouse. We helped to weigh the food.

We have also supported Children in Need with a spotty themed non-uniform day; a guess the number of spots on Pudsey and a spotty cake sale.

Our next jobs...

To decide what other charities our school would like to support this year.
To work out what we need to do to be awarded our Level 2 award by writing an action plan.
